It’s been a long time, for which many apologies, but radio silence is now being broken, and so here’s the newest in your long-running, but somewhat sporadic series of round-ups on mental health and related topics.
First up is a wee reminder (or news if it’s er, new to you) that the next NTWSU&C network meeting will be held on Friday, 16th of January, from 12.30pm, in the Soup Kitchen at Launchpad..In other words, the Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (Mental Health) Service User and Carer network (which is not part of the NHS trust that has the same initials, though we had them first, and many from within the trust are members of the network) has its next meeting on Friday. It’d be nice to see you there, and do please pass on the details to anyone you believe might be interested. We’re in the Holy Jesus Hospital, formerly the Joicey museum, right by the 55 degrees north/Swan House roundabout, where Pilgrim street meets City road. It’s the very old building that was once a soup kitchen etc. Press the Launchpad buzzer for entry. Best parking is at Manors multi-storey.

Next we have the next North East Mad Studies Forum meeting 29th January, in Durham, and the poster for that is attached.
More events and so also with attachments and we come to the Adult AD/HD support group flyer for January 19th.
From events to a new group/service, and it’s Doug’s Club 18-30, except it isn’t in St Tropez, but in St Ann’s. That’s a lousy way of saying that Tyneside Mind are starting a new (small-sish, so places are limited) group for those in the 18-30 age category on Friday mornings, more details in the attachments.
Our penultimate attachment is the marvellous prospectus for early 2015 from the Recovery College, that is, the Ivy Centre for Recovery Knowledge, which all the cool kids are calling the ICRK (hint, that last bit may not be entirely backed up with evidence, or truth). The attachment is large, but it’s good stuff and not only because some of the usual suspects are involved.
Lastly, and to sign off this first mail-out for the year (ideally not the last, but your correspondent does need to increase output) we have job opportunities. Aye, you read that right. Jobs, as link workers/senior link worker with the Ways To Wellness social prescribing service in Newcastle’s West End. They’re attached too, of course.
